In 1980, Lepage co-starred in the critically acclaimed drama "Cordelia," followed by a string of TV and film roles, including a lead part in "Gaspard et fil$" (1988), as a 40-year-old librarian who reevaluates his relationship with his ailing, grumpy father after he learns the latter won the lottery. By this time, Lepage had established himself a versatile actor who excelled in both comedic and serious roles in films like "Jesus of Montreal" (1989), "King of the Airways" (1994), and "Joyeux Calvaire" (1996).
