Carmen Violeta, stage name of Germana Barbosa (Santana do Livramento, September 1, 1908 - Rio de Janeiro, June 11, 2005) was a Brazilian film actress. In 1929, she made her film debut in a major role, having previously had a small role in the 1928 film Brasa Dormida. In the 1930s, CinΓ©dia, the first major Brazilian studio, owned by producer and director Adhemar Gonzaga, had its own gallery of muses, and Carmem Violeta was one of these leading silent film stars.
